Browse-A-Map is a public facing Internet mapping portal allowing organisations to easily provide a mapping interface to their websites. It has been developed by CDR Group, using only Microsoft's .NET framework, and is not tied to any proprietry or third party systems, allowing it to display geographical information from a wide variety of data sources - including traditional databases.
Browse-A-Map has been designed and developed in conjunction with both Local Government and commercial organisations, to offer a realistic solution to distributing spatial data across the web. For example, it facilitates a quick and cost effective method of meeting the requirements of the ODPM initiatives.
The user interface can be tailored to suit the anticipated audience - all the way from a simple map centred on, for example, a given postcode - to a fully featured, free standing web application.
Browse-A-Map is simple, configurable and extremely cost-effective. As a Microsoft .NET application, it is robust, scaleable and can easily be integrated into other applications.
Features include:
Example planning application and street-lighting data combined with OS MasterMap.
